Imagine a role where your value lies in your inquiring spirit and unique perspective. Our teams thrive on a range of backgrounds and interests, united by your curiosity about the world and a desire to learn. Whether philosopher or mathematician, politics graduate or career changer, you can find a career with us.

As an Investment Research Analyst, your role will be largely research based, analysing investment opportunities to help clients achieve their desired financial objectives. Working alongside people who have generated world-class investment returns, you’ll have support through structured learning, professional qualifications, and dedicated mentors. As your skills develop, we’ll encourage you to pursue your own ideas and creative thinking. We want you to question what’s in front of you and develop an independent viewpoint.

The programme

During the programme, you’ll rotate through a series of year-long placements in autonomous investment teams. Each team has its own distinct approach and investment philosophy, but all have the same purpose – to drive positive returns for our clients. Whether those are councils, pension funds or governments, we’re dedicated to helping them meet their income and savings goals.

Within the Investment Research Programme there is a distinct career path offering a permanent, long-term role from the moment you join us. Our training will equip you with the tools, techniques, and mental models you will then use to identify investment opportunities for our clients. Along side your training you will be fully supported by dedicated investment mentors and buddies.

Often your role will involve travelling within the UK or internationally to visit companies, speak to global experts or attend conferences. You’ll also receive full support financial and training to help you work towards professional qualifications, in particular the IMC (Investment Management Certificate) and CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Level 1.

What we are looking for

  • Curiosity – Learning and development never stop so you should have interests in a wide variety of subjects with a passion for continual learning
  • Independent thinker – Can you apply your imagination, does research come naturally to you and can you generate original ideas from your own analysis
  • Self-Starter – Are you keen to contribute from the start and drive your own development
  • Resilient – Successful investment can involve years of uncertainty, so you need the commitment and determination to grow and learn.
  • Minimum of a 2:1 or the equivalent in any degree subject
