Why did you choose to work at Philips?

I have a huge interest in the way an international business operates on a day-to-day basis and how the different locations work with one another to achieve business goals. Philips is not only a global company but has a true purpose to bettering people’s lives. This was important to me, as it meant I was part of an organisation that thought about wider issues and made a positive social impact.

What does your role involve?

我的冷杉st rotation in Business Transformation is a diverse role focusing on supporting the Western Europe Market in developing LEAN ways of working, including Daily Management, Problem Solving, and Process Improvement. Within the team, we deliver trainings and drive the Continuous Improvement Agent program across Western Europe. The goal is to promote the most efficient ways of working within all teams across the market, so they can deliver the best possible results. There is also the Philips Excellence Competition in February, an opportunity for teams to showcase their projects, which I will help plan and host.

From my first day at Philips, I felt so welcome by everyone in the office. The Graduate Development Program ensured that there were other new starters I could connect with prior to the start day. Although I have only been here a short time, my manager and others around me have giving me the tools and encouragement to go beyond my day-to-day, learn more about the business and stretch myself out of my comfort zone.

What is one piece of advice you would offer an applicant?

Ask lots of questions, not just about your role but about Philips as an international organisation. There are so many exciting elements to the business, and the best way to learn is by speaking to the people that have the experience.
